Belt conveyor is extensively used in the coal mine transport system, and adhesive tape longitudinal tear is the one of more serious incident in wire cord belt conveyor using, directly affect the production efficiency and production safety of the coal mine, and cause huge economic losses. This paper has analyzed reasons of adhesive tape longitudinal tear, compared and summarized the current popular longitudinal tear-protection principle and method at home and abroad. It proposed the thinking of advanced protection with existing protective devices passive lag prevention and failed to fundamentally solve the problem of tape longitudinal tear. The paper focus on the prevention device designs of entrapment tearing and advance anti-penetrating foreign body longitudinal tear, and structural characteristics of the hardware and software implementation and application. Through advance prevention principle of longitudinal tear, and two torn situation at loading point compression of materials, and foreign body penetrating tearing, it designs sensor devices to prevent loading and tearing pressure penetrating with irregular body. The device uses the funnel or loading chute and loose-leaf board with the trip switch and pressure sensor to determine loading materials entrapment. It uses overall buffer roller and pressure sensor to determine foreign body penetrating belt at loading point. Through advanced detection system to protect the device for signal acquisition, conversion, processing and comparison, the device can implement the alarm or shutdown protection. The device can be carried out on-line monitoring of the belt conveyor to achieve active ahead of protective measures. Based on laboratory experimental conditions, the paper designs a prototype model of the protection device, and conducts analog function experiments with materials and the pressure of the foreign body penetrating tearing. Experimental results show rationality and reliability of the advance protection. It can be effectively avoided tape longitudinal tear problems.
