| The research on CAD/CAM system is very important in car bevel gear's cold precision forging, which is regarded as a significant part of advanced manufacturing technology. The cavity die of bevel gear precision forging is conventionally machined by following steps. The high precision electric pole of bevel gear is machined by Gleason bevel gear shaper first. Then the die is machined by EDM shaping machine using that pole, and at last, polished manually to reduce the roughness of the cavity. Using the specialized CAD/CAM system, the productivity, as well as the dimensional precision and the degree of finish, can be increased remarkably by machining the cavity directly on the glut of forging die through high speed NC milling machine.The current status and the developing trend of car bevel gear's cold precision forging and Die&Mould CAD/CAM technology are discussed. According to the need of Die&Mould design and manufacturing, the bevel gear cold forging CAD/CAM system is designed on UG platform by second development, includes four functional modules: gear modeling, gears assembly, die modeling and cavity NC programming.The implementary method, structure and design thought of the system are described. The detail design of the system is carried out based on the general design. The design thought of system menus is discussed. Each functional module's design thought, programming flow, interface design and key method are expounded.An applied example is given, which covers modeling, assembly, die design and cavity milling for a pair of differential gear by the system. The conclusion that the system can achieve the designed function well is proved by the results. |
