With science progress and higher requirements of operational ability for the army, it was increasingly urgent to improve the quality of weapons and decrease their weight, especially for the highlight firearm. The high strength aluminum alloy was selected firstly to manufacture the components because of the series of fine performances such as small density, high strength-rigidity ratio, good attribute for processing and welding performance, etc. Recently, the rate of the components made by Al-alloy in weapon equipment is continuously increasing and has great potential to develop and study.In the paper, the development and existing problems in the plastic forming technology of high strength aluminum alloy at home and abroad were summarized firstly. The study of precision plastic forming of the case which material were high strength aluminum alloy 7075 in lightweight fire arms was done through the way that the plastic forming theory, FEA and the experiments were adopted altogether. And the precision hot die forming technology of the case was developed successfully.The structure and shape features of the case were analyzed in detail. Through theory analysis, the feasibility of the closed hot die forging was proved that the depth-width ratio of the rib in the case and lower case is less than the recommended value. The technology route was made and forming force was obtained. The end die forming procedures of two cases were simulated adopted the type of thermal coupled rigid-viscoplastic finite element using 3D-Deform software, and the change of the distributes of the effective stress, effective strain, velocity and temperature in the simulation process were analyzed. The study conclusion can be used for batch production of case parts' precision die forging.
