The thin-walled steel special vehicles are mainly responsible for rescue, communication on field.Both the structure of thin-walled steel vehicles and the distribution of the welding lines are quite complicated. In China, shielded metal arc welding and semi-automatic melting pole gas shielded-arc Welding are mainly adopted in car-body welding manufacture process at present.With the development of technology and the gradually improved demand of quality, the existing welding technique can not satisfy the requirements.Since the moment welding robot technique came forth, based on lots of its advantages, it has been successfully applied in many areas, including automobiles, motorbikes, engineering machine, railway locomotive. However, the application of thin-walled steel vehicles is still under way, and hopes for the further research The welding robot technique has attracted more and more attention from the enterprises that concern about, and gradually become the development direction of weld.It also welcomed by many enterprises of vehicle. The welding robot is one type of the industrial robots. It also is a melding Manipulation with automatic control, repeatable programmed multi-function, and multi-degree of freedom. It has many advantages which are stable and excellent quality of welding, high efficiency, good working condition, lower demand of operation and production cost etc.The application of welding robot technique is a huge progress in the welding area. It surpasses the traditional way of melding which is rigid automation, and exploits a new way of flexible automation. According to the recent research on welding technique of thin-walled steel vehicles, the technology test and trial production of steel materials adopting melting pole gas shielded-arc welding and the automatic welding robot were carried out as follow:Melting Pole Gas Shielded-arc Welding is analyzed. The theory, advantage and technique demand of Melting Pole Gas Shielded-arc Welding are introduced.The automatic welding robot system is analyzed. The configuration and classification of the system are depicted, and the importance of the development of the melding technique is expatiated as well.The steel materials is analyzed and tested from the point of welding character. An experimentation was designed based on the welding character of the steel materials. The welding performance of Melting Pole Gas Shielded-arc Welding was mastered and process specification and technical measure are obtained, which establish the foundation for the further application of automatic welding robot.Based on the results of welding test, a thin-walled steel vehicle welded by automatic welding robot is made. Via the trial production, the manufacturing processes and controlling measure are brought forward using welding robot technique.
