Foam metal is one kind of porous metallic material with numerous bubbles in metal matrix. It is a type of multi-purpose engineering material with excellent performance just because of the particular structure. It has the characteristics of both metal and bubble and effects of both structure and function. Jet-electrodeposition is a electrodeposition technology with high speed in local and has the advantages of good selectivity and high deposit rate. The preparation of foam metal by jet-electrodeposition is a new type of prototyping method under normal temperature and pressure: according to the principle of electrochemical study; combining with the technical characters and operative method of jet-electrodeposition; using preparation technique of foam metal.Firstly, finite element analysis is used in studying the regular of flow field of preparing foam metal by jet-electrodeposition in the paper. Then dendritic growth morphology is simulated, and finally the experimental research is done. Works have been done as following:(1) In order to provide theoretical reference for the formation law of foam metal by: on the basis of FEM analysis software-ANSYS; according to the theory of electrodeposition and knowledge of computational fluid dynamics; with the cavities of circular and flat nozzle and jet liquid column as the research subjects; by the analysis of the distribution of pressure, velocity field and experimental verification.(2) Try to find the influence law of these parameters on the formation of dendrite by the following: on the basis of the theory of fractal geometry; improving the typical method of fractal-DLA; writing computer programs by VB language; simulating and comparing the morphology of deposit under different ion deposition velocity and different stages of deposition process in the process of jet-electrodeposition.(3) Do some experiment by changing one of experimental parameters under the condition of others are unchangeable. These parameters include current density, electrodeposition speed, the distance between anode and cathode and jetting time. In order to find the optimal parameter that can research expected effect by the research of their influence on the growth of foam metal, the analysis of sediments'porosity and relative density and combing the former theoretical analysis.
