Zirconia(ZrO2) is one of the high-tech ceramics having excellent performance for application,such as transformation toughening,high-temperature thermal-stability,thermal insulation,low thermal conductivity etc.Furthermore, the ZrO2 is used not only as high-tech ceramics,but also as catalyst,catalyst support,sensor and electronic materials.The preparation of ZrO2 powder is the foundation for high technology ZrO2 ceramics.Nowadays there are different methods for the preparation of ZrO2,however,it is difficult to prepare the ultra-fine ZrO2 particle with controlling morphology and size now.The improvement of preparing methods and chemical technology for ultra-fine ZrO2 particles needs long-term studying.Nowadays,the ionic liquids(ILs) have been the focus in the chemistry field. Ionic liquids with unique structure and outstanding physical and chemistry properties were widely used in the fabrication of inorganic nanomaterials, especially in the field of the control on microstructure.Ionic liquids with great advantage over the traditional solvents have been attractive for its abroad applications in the controlled synthesis of the inorganic nanomaterials.In this work,ionic liquid[BMIM]BF4 was prepared through Direct Method and Two-step Method,respectively.The chemical structure and thermal stability of the final products were characterized by Infraed spectra and Thermogravimetry.The paper synthesized ZrO2 nanomaterials without agglomeration not using any surfactant and template agent.The surface modification and reducibility of ionic liquid were characterized by Infraed spectra,Thermogravimetry and Roman spectra.The formation mechanism of ZrO2 was proposed primarily.The morphology was represented by FESEM and TEM.The effect of reaction conditions such as microwave power,reaction medium,reaction time and pH value were discussed by XRD.We adopted solvothermal-assisted the mixture of [BMIM]BF4 and water method to synthesize pure m-ZrO2 and t-ZrO2.The role of ionic liquid in the synthsis was proposed by Infraed spectra and Thermogravimetry.The phase structures characterized by XRD and the morpholy were represented by FESEM and TEM.The effect of reaction conditions such as filling factor,precursor concentration,precursor pH value,reaction time and reaction temperature were discussed.The result indicated that the ionic liquid was a kind of solvent with special structure,which played a role as surfactant during the process of synthesis of nano-powder.The ionic liquid used stimoltaneously as template agent,modificative agent,stabilizer,dispersant and so on,which was helpful to prepare ZrO2 micropowder with uniform morphology.
