The traditional methods can not fulfill the urgent requirement for the treatment of organic wastewater containing aniline and formaldehyde. The bio-film electrode method has an extensive application due to its advantage such as high efficiency, low cost and convenient operation. The design of the bio-film electrode reactor was developed. We got the biofilm of each contamination by acclimation of activated sludge. The artificial operation condition of aniline wastewater was investigated. When the temperature is 30℃, electric current is 5 m A, Hydraulic retention time is 6 hours, we got a 99% in removal of the aniline wastewater. The treatment for the other organic contamination by bio-film electrode method was investigated. We studied the treatment of formaldehyde and p-nitroaniline wastewater. The results as following: the removal of formaldehyde is 99.8% through 6 hours, and 98.2% for p-nitroaniline in 12 hours. The mechanism of the degradation for the organic wastewater was studied. The results showed that, under the same operation condition, the removal of electrochemistry method ,the adsorption by ACFs, the interaction between electric field and ACFs ,the biodegradation and bio-electrode method were 10%,22%,43% and 99%.The Protozoa was observed by optical microscope; the determination of organic contamination concentration was characterized by spectrophotometer. The results of study showed that electrochemistry enhanced adsorption of aniline on activated carbon fibers; electric field promoted the metabolism of the microbe under certain current, which is benefit to the treatment of aniline. The bio-electrode method is feasible to treat organic contamination.
