Nano-meter titanium dioxide is one of the most promising photocatalysts,because of its high photocatalytic activity,high chemical stability,low-cost and non-toxicity.At present,TiO2 is synthesised by means of sol-gel,gas phase and liquid phase.The first and the second method need long reaction time,high-cost,high-temperature calcinations,besides it will cause agglomeration of the powers.In this paper,the preparation of nanometer TiO2 selected liquid phase at low temperature,and this method had such outstanding characteristics as simple equipment,easy to industrial production.Nano-TiO2 was prepared through low-temperature of liquid,and the initial material was C16H36O4Ti.Anatase,rutile and mixed Nano-TiO2 were synthesized by changing the ratio of initial materials and reaction time.XRD,TEM,UV-VIS,IR and TG spectra were employed to characterize the nanometer particles.The photocatalytic activities of the samples were investigated by the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange under ultraviolet light.The results revealed that the photocatalytic activity was excellent when TiO2 powers contain 69.8%anatase and 30.2%rutile phase,and methyl orange was degraded by 95.7%.There are many hydroxides in cotton fibre,and the surface of TiO2 also has many hydroxides due to the big polarity of Ti-O bond.If TiO2 powers had been adsorbed in cotton fabrics which were not finished,the TiO2 powers would fall off from the fabrics easily,and the main of binding energy was physical adorption.In this paper,cotton fabics needed pre-treatment with the citric acid,then TiO2 powers were treated on modified cotton fabrics by dip-roll finishing.The carboxyl of citric acid could esterify two hydrosyls of cotton cellulose and TiO2,thus forming crosslink between cotton cellulose and TiO2.The finishing effect of modified cotton fabrics was more prominent.Finally,the clothing performance of anti-ultraviolet cotton fabrics and common cotton fabrics were tested and analysed.The results revealed that functional finishing on cotton fabrics was feasible by liquid phase at low temperature,the ultraviolet transmitting rate changed a little after 10 times of washing,and the fabrics treated with the finishing agent had excellent UV resistance and wearability.
