In this thesis, forty-three new types of hetero-binuclear metal compounds have been designed and synthesized by using ethylenediamine, 1-methylimidazole, 2- methylimidazole, imidazole, ethyl imidazole, benzimidazole as ligands. These compounds have been characterized by EA, UV, and IR. Three crystal structures of these compounds have been obtained, and they are [Cu(en)2][HgI4](a), [Ni(en)2][HgI4](b) and [Cu(1-MeIm)4]Cr2O7(c), respectively.A novel bridged pyridine ligand with two coordinated atoms has been designed and developed; further reacted with a series of metal salts, and thus synthesized fifteen kinds of homo-binuclear metal compounds. These compounds have been characterized by EA, UV, and IR. One crystal structure of these compounds has been obtained, and it is Cu2 (dippy) (ace) 4(d).2, 3-Dimethyl quinoxaline has been designed and synthesized, and further reacted with dimethylglyoxime to get a new kind of supermolecular structure (e). This compound (e) has been characterized by EA, UV, IR, and single crystal X-ray diffraction.Carefully analyses for above five signal crystals have shown that these complexes can self-assemble to form 2D or 3D networks via supermolecular interactions such as hydrogen bonds,π···πand C-H···πstackings. The properties of electrochemistry, thermal stability, magnetism and two-photon absorption for the five compounds have been investigated. The experimental results indicate that the compounds of (a) and (d) exhibit weak antiferromagnetic interactions, and the compound (d) exhibits a strong two-photon absorption effect.
