Bamboo is one of the most important forest resources in China. Bamboo's substitution for wood will help to resolve the contradiction between the supply and demand. In recent years,China's bamboo industry has made significant development, however, only moso (Phgllochys heterocycla var pubscense) can be used in large-scale industrial production now, and with the utilization rate less than 50%. whereas the other bamboo species have not yet been used in large-scale industrial production. In this study, based on the foreign manufacturing processes of reconstituted lumber, to utilize the entire bamboo through improving equipment and produce technology, and the bamboo bundle preparation, glue immersion, forming and hot pressing process as well as the its performance were investigated, the main conclusions as follows:(1) The contrast analysis of bamboo bundle processes and the pretreatment study of bamboo bundle showed that the bamboo bundle prepared by mangle equipment was the best, the process of surface sanding enhanced the mechanical properties of reconstituted bamboo lumber, and the heat-treated bamboo bundle reduced the bonding performance of reconstituted bamboo lumber.(2) The glue immersion parameters study indicated that the glue consumption of bamboo bundle is the most vulnerable to be achieved by controlling the glue solid content, glue immersion time did a little effect on the glue consumption, the glue consumption of bamboo bundle raised as the increase of glue immersion pressure. In this study, the physical and mechanical properties of reconstituted bamboo lumber decreased as the reduce of glue consumption.(3) The density variation of reconstituted bamboo lumber with strip bamboo bundle was the lowest, followed by the lumber with strip and flake bamboo bundle, last was the lumber with flake bamboo bundle. Moreover, a new forming process devices and method of reconstituted bamboo lumber was brought forward. .(4) Bamboo species, glue solid content, hot pressing temperature and density did significant effects on the mechanical property of reconstituted bamboo lumber, especially the density, the physical and mechanical properties raised as the increase of density, and there were parabolic relationship between MOR, MOE, IB and density.(5) The mechanical properties of reconstituted bamboo lumber made of bamboo bundle with the bamboo's outer skin and bamboo inner skin were better than curtain plybamboo, plybamboo and other three kinds of reconstituted bamboo lumber productions. The intensity-peel performance of reconstituted bamboo lumber was better than other three kinds of reconstituted bamboo lumber production. The circle wet, heat and light test indicated that the reconstituted bamboo lumber had a certain resistance from exterior weathering.
