The purpose of this thesis is degradation of water-insoluble VOCs by adsorption-eletrochemical oxidation in aqueous environment with consideration of the nondegradable features of VOCs and the deficiency of deterioration technology in existence. In this resrearch, high concentration water-insoluble gaseous VOCs was successfully removed by adsorption-eletrochemical oxidation in aqueous environment, and activated carbon fiber electrodes and micro-aeration were employed to realize the treatment. This experimental research used benzene ethanol dilution as the treated pollutants.Take sole ACF's adsorption, adsorption-electrocatalytic oxidation, pH and reaction time into consideration the role of benzene removal. Orthogonal test combined with single factor analyse to establish optimum operation condition. The degradation efficiency of benzene was studied under different conditions of agitation rate, initial concentration of benzene solution, electrolysis voltage and electrolyte concentration. In addition to adsorption, eletrochemical direct oxidation also devote to the degradation of gaseous benzene. Modeling of benzene removal system was conducted on the basis of scientific theory and experimental data, including benzene volatilization in the initial solution, adsorption of benzene by ACF. At last electricity expenditure of this system was calculated. This experimental research also used pure liquid chlorobenzene as treated pollutants.Take adsorption-electrocatalytic oxidation and sole adsorption for comparisons to research the change law of the removal, COD and TOC over reaction time. Optimal experimental parameters were determined by orthogonal and single factor effect test, considering effects of pH, aeration rate, voltage and electrolyte concentration on the experimental results. The degradation function of gaseous chlorobenzene includes adsorption, direct and indirect eletrochemical oxidation fenton, action and reductive dechlorination. The current efficiency during the electrochemical degradation was calculated and economic cost of chlorobenzene eliminate was also estimatedFor further research about the removal mechanism, take the solo adsorption ,Fe-ACF electrode and stainless steel-ACF electrode under the optimal conditions of chlorobenzene's research for examples, the DO,pH value and current intensity were surveyed in every 10 minutes and the reaction mechanism was analyzed according to the change law of the svrveyed values.GC-MS was used to contrast the difference of substance in the electrolyte between sole adsorption and adsorption- electrocatalysis. GC-MS together with the bond energy of functional group analyses chlorobenzene degradation mechanism.
