Much attentions have been paid on the foamed technology recently. The density of part can be lowered by foaming, which will reduce the part weight, save the materials and cost. In this article, the foaming technology and components has been studied via partially crosslinking methold. The effect of foamed agents and its content, crosslinking agent, nucleating agent on the properties of the foamed part has been investigated. At the same time, the effect of injection molding parameters on the properties has been discussed in this article. TEM was applied to check the inner structure before foaming and after foaming.Foamed PP was made by adding NaHCO3 as foaming agent, DCP as the crosslinking agent and CaSO4 as nucleating agent. The result showed the best properties could be obtained by adding foaming masterbatch as 4%, crosslinking agent as 0.02%, nucleating masterbatch as 10%. After a simple calculation based on the component design, the cost could be reduced 10% with the assurance of qualitly requirements. In addition, the effect of TA foaming agents on PP properties was discussed in this article. The result showed that the content of each foaming agent was different for best properties.
