Studies On Norrish-Yang Photocyclization Of Ketone-amides

The synthetic utility of the Norrish-Yang cyclization has been studied extensively in last decades.The stereoselectivity of the reaction has attracted considerable attention and closely studied.This thesis mainly focuses on the study of Norrish-Yang photocyclization of keto-amides.It consists of two parts:The first part of this thesis is a review of the photochemistry of ketones, including the mechanism of Norrish reactions and the application of these reactions in synthesis.The second part is the report of my research work:the construction of 2-pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoindol-5-one skeletones by photocyclization of four kinds of ketone-amides such as 3-benzoylmethyl-2-alkylisoindol-1-ones(1a-d),3-acetyl methyl-2-alkylisoindol-1-ones(1e-1h),methyl-3-(2-alkylisoindol-1-on-3-yl)pyruvate (1i-1j) and 7-(2-oxo-propyl)pyrrolo[3,4-b]pyridin-5-one(1k-1).
