European-window is a new-style wooden window, having the virtues which other windows can't compare with. At the same time, the market share of European-window is rather limit, owning to its high price which is caused by scare of woody material, seriously staff wasting. There is large section difference between the before and after shaping of the window staff. So, change the rectangle-section raw materials into an irregular one would be an effective way to improve the ratio to material used. Furthermore. In the mall, the European-windows sanding is mostly depending upon handy-operation, which made the sanding effect hard to handle, and the sanding dust is serious. In the paper, experiment has been done to provide optimizational sanding parameter for European-window sanding machine, the parameter including: tree species, sanding speed, feeding speed, sand paper sizes, times of sanding, sanding depth. The study shows that:â‘ It would be an effective way of cost and material saving by using irregularity-adhesion glulam instead of rectangle-glulam, especially for window muntin, sash and pressed-sash. Expressed by the area of the section, relative to rectangle-glulam, irregularity-adhesion glulam could save about 30 percent . Mean while, by using irregularity-adhesion glulam, cutting energy would be saved, and cutting tool life would be extended.â‘¡Soakage and shaping experimentation show that: there is no sub-peeling off or milling lost during the experimention, that is to say: irregular-glulam Economy of using irregular-adhesion glulam in European-window productionâ‘¢Relationship between sanding parameter and surface roughness. (a) Large difference exists between different tree species, pinus sylvestris L.var.mongolica Litv and Larix gmelinii Rupr. are easy to sanding, while Quercus mongolica Fisch.ex Ledeb. is hard. (b) in this experimention, when the sanding speed is 600r/min or 900r/min, favorable sanding effect could be got. (c) relationship between feeding speed and surface roughness: when the sanding speed is large, feeding speed should be large too. As the same, when the sanding speed is small, feeding speed should be small. (d) proximate linear relation exists between sanding times and surface roughness, that is: the deeper the sanding depth, the smaller the Ra-value. (e) The more sanding times, the smaller the Ra-value. To pinus sylvestris L.var.mongolica Litv. and Larix gmelinii Rupr., this rule is clear. (f) Different tree species should choose different sand paper sizes. To pinus sylvestris L.var.mongolica Litv. and Larix gmelinii Rupr., 280# would be commended.
