In this dissertation, two sulfonated metallophthalocyanine compounds were synthesized: VOTsPc and SnTsPc. Thin composite films with alternating layers containing anionic sulfonated metallophthalocyanine (VOTsPc) and cationic polyelectrolyte (PEI) have been prepared by the electrostatic self-assembly (ESA) technique. The alternating multilayer assemblies were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, showing the regularly consecutive adsorption process, and the number of bilayers is controllable. The film surface was smooth and homogeneous as indicated by atomic force microscopy. The closely packed nanoparticles can be easily seen on the film surface.Catalytic electroreduction performance of the modified electrode of DR/SnTsPc multilayer films on trichloroacetic acid was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The third-order nonlinear optical properties of PEI/VOTsPc films were tested by Z-scanning technique. The results showed that the nonlinear refractive index,γof 30-bilayer film is 1.2×10-12 m2/W, the nonlinear absorption coefficient, (3 value of the film is 1.2×10-5m/W by simulation and calculation of the experimental data, the third-order nonlinear susceptibility x(3) value of the film is 1.57×10-6 esu by calculation.
