Due to their good properties, such as low density, high specific strength and high specific stiffness, magnesium alloy sheets are widely applied in transportation, household appliance, communication and many other fields.Because of the orientations of magnesium alloy crystals by rolling and less symmetrical characteristics, magnesium alloys often show strong anisotropy behavior. In this work, the anisotropy of five magnesium alloy sheets from different company was studied. With the help of tests and mathematical modeling, anisotropy and yield function in different temperatures is analyzed for the AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet produced by Yingkou Yinhe Magnesium-Aluminum alloy Co.,Ltd.Thus,all these work will provides the reliable theoretical basis for the forming and numerical simulation of magnesium alloy sheet. The tests on tensile mechanics and formability of five typical AZ31B magnesium alloy sheets show that rolling process will not directly affect the mechanical properties and formability. However, the smaller grain size made yield and tensile strength of that two materials made in Japan better than others.Except the magnesium alloy sheet made in Korean Pohang, all the materials show significant anisotropy property.Further research of AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet which is made by Yingkou Yinhe Mg-Al alloy Co.,Ltd.proved its anisotropy plasticity and elasticity deeply.Based on the fitting of test data, the tensile elastic modulus and hardening rules under two different temperature and seven different orientations were determined.Additionally, based on the results of uniaxial tension test, determine the equation system which is used to solve the Cazacu-Barlat model and yield criterion of some corresponding plastic strain.
