Polysulfone amide(PSA) is a kind of new high temperature-resistant fiber produced by China independently.It has perfect heat-proof,refractory and fire-retardant performence.PSA is widely used in the field of national defence and modern industry,which is urgently needed in high-technology.But it's UV-protection is bad.After 100 hours' radiation in the somulative climate,it's strength declines 60%-70%,and after 200 hours' radiation,its strength declines about 90%.This has dramaticly limited its application.In order to improve it's UV-protection,and enlarge its application, on the basis of the theory of in-situ growth,this paper has finished the PSA fabric treated by soda firstly with the combined TiO2-SiO2 sol,which was produced in the way of sol-gel.At first,this paper has studied the alternating process of the PSA fibers in detail,and found that the best process was the fabric dipped in soda hydroxide(10%) at the room temperature for 2 h.After the preparation,PSA could be well hydrolyzed.In the preparation of the combined TiO2-SiO2 sol, TNB and TEOS acted as the precursor,with EtOH acting as the solvent, CH3COOH acting as the complexing agent,and HCL acting as the activator. The transparent light yellow TiO2-SiO2 sol was received after aging for some time,which was made at the constant temperature of 30℃,pH was 4 and stirring up constantly.The PSA,which was alternated by soda hydroxide,was finished by TiO2-SiO2 sol two-dip-two-rolling at room temperature,then dipped by the boiling water for 1 h after dried.Lastly,it was airinig at room temperature.The particle size of TiO2 is only 8.2 nm in the best formula, which was tested by UV-resistant.UV-aging testing showed that UV-protection of PSA has improved significantly after the finishing.SEM and XRD were used to characterize the nano-particle TiO2.It was observed that there were anatase TiO2 grew on the fabric.The IR testing of the finished fibers showed that nano-particles TiO2 in-situ grew on the fibers that is chemical reaction was genarated between the nano-particle TiO2 and the PSA fibers,the in-situ growth theory has improved the fastness in the collation.
