| Epoxy resin possesses many excellent properties and is widely utilized in many fields as a high performance thermosetting resin for many industrial applications.However,as one kind of thermosetting material is with a high cross-link density,the behavior of its crack growth shows that it is of typical brittleness,which leads to some weak points such as the great brittleness in the curing state,low heat-resistance,low impact strength.So it is difficult to fit for the requirements of the developing engineering technology and restricts its application in some special occasions.In this paper,various analytical techniques were used in studying the physicochemica] characterization of modified epoxy resin.Using Nano-TiO2 modify epoxy resin,tested the mechanical property of modified resin by universal test machine and analyzed the surface pattern of coating impact fracture plane through Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), discussed the toughening mechanism.On the basis of TiO2/EP resin we add MQ silicone resin in the epoxy resin.Epoxy resin was modified by MQ silicone resin and Nano-TiO2,Epoxy value and IR indicated that MQ was incorporated into epoxy resin.The heat -resistance was studied by the TG analysis,and the toughening effect was assessed by the impact strength, tensile strength and SEM,when the content of MQ was up to 15%,and the content of Nano-TiO2 was 3%,the heat-resistance toughness exhibited a maximum,meanwhile,both the impact strength and the tensile strength were increased to 66.99%and 73.56%respectively.We studied the preparation of the EP/PU IPN on improving mechanical,and thermal properties of Pure EP were investigated by mechanical test,TGA,and SEM.Mechanics test indicated that the mechanical properties of the epoxy resin with polyurethane modified was strengthened while its toughness improved highly.For the epoxy resin with wt15%-NCO terminated polyurethane modified,the tensile strength of EP/PU IPN could increase by 48.1%,the impact strength could increase by 14.9%,TG showed the thermo stability of hybrid materials were improved a little. |
