Cashmere is a rare and special animal fibers, it is an extremely valuable textile materials. In recent years, the textile manufacturers have developed and produced a variety of different blends of sheep wool fiber or modified sheep wool or mohair or camel hair with cashmere in order to rationally use of cashmere sources and adjust the product structure. As a result of high quality of cashmere and price factors, as well as some defects in identification, there have been some man-made products adulterated in the market. Incorporation of the fiber is also more complicated. So it is essential to identify the cashmere more accurately, effectively, rapidly and economically.In the field of fiber material and textile testing, it is well known that the identification among cashmere and wool and other hair fibers is a very difficult technical task. At present, the identification of cashmere and wool fiber is often used LM or SEM technique. These methods are large dependent upon the tester's experience. Because different tester will result in different subjective assessment, there are some variations of the tested results and also it is not so good for the testing conformance of various testing agencies or testers.In this paper, referring to literatures and experiments, some comparative analysis and research work will be carried out between cashmere and wool fiber in the physical properties, chemical properties and fiber morphological structure, meanwhile to observe the scale's details of cashmere and wool fiber based on SEM picture. And Taking fiber fineness (or diameter) R, the thickness T and length of scales L as the basic configuration coefficient K, to render the testing method of identification for cashmere and wool fiber by SEM configuration coefficient and the region of chart, which can eliminate man-made factors of subjective judgments, reduce the errors of identification and achieve the objective and accurate effect.After experimental verification, it can be calculated the K value, which can expressed as follows: The K range is 30.06~64.61 for cashmere and 6.48~19.16 for wool fiber. The former's identification accuracy may be up to 86% and the latter's may be up to 91%~96%. Taking the ratio between T and L as identified index, its ratio range is 0.018~0.029 for cashmere and 0.036~0.060 for wool fiber. And for the region of chart, the identification accuracy is 85% for cashmere and 92%~98% for wool fiber, which conforms to the K value index.
