Study on modification of bamboo pulp fiber is hotspot subjection in textile fiber research field at present, however study on protein modification of bamboo pulp fiber is few.In this paper, selection oxidation technique used for modification of bamboo pulp fiber makes two vicinal hydroxyl groups in cellulose chain unit oxidized to aldehyde groups. By using the activity of aldehyde groups, the oxidized bamboo pulp fiber has the ability to crosslink directly with other biological protein. On this basis protein bamboo pulp fiber by sericin and silk fibroin coating bamboo pulp fiber are successful prepared, which realize protein materialization on bamboo pulp fiber. There is no chemical crosslinking regents on the whole process. Protein bamboo fiber is pure natural material and the preparation technology is practical and reasonable, which can be in keeping with the need of people about greenness and environment protein. The results showed that after oxidization the crystallinity and mechanical properties of bamboo pulp fiber will decreased. But at the optimized process condition, the bamboo pulp fiber can keep its original mechanical properties and make the fiber acquire a certain content of aldehyde groups. After chitosan and collagen protein solution processing, the weight of oxidized bamboo pulp fiber increased. FTIR result showed that Schiff base formed, which illustrated that amido group of functional materials have crosslinked with aldehyde groups of oxidized fiber. Thus, new functional bamboo pulp fiber was prepared successfully. The results of bamboo pulp fabric showed that anti-wrinkle, Anti-UV radiation and water absorbency of the treated fabric have enhanced while the mechanical properties little changed. However, the whiteness of the fabric decreased slightly.
