With Continuous Casting(CC) application rapidly growing in more recent times, the need to grasp solidification phenomena through scientific rationale-supporting the know-how with the know-why found more and more response in several fundamental articles,apart from the ever-growing number of pertinent conference proceedings and technical reports,and followed which,efficient continuous casting has become a major trend.Temperature distribution and secondary cooling-domain quality and quantity of the casting production,determine the CC process whether to operate smoothly-have been highly concerned in solidification research course.Decreasing computational costs and the increasing power of commercial modeling packages are making it easier to apply mathematical models as an additional tool to understand complex materials processes such as the continuous casting of steel.In view of basic principles of heat transfer and finite difference method(FDM), the development process and status in quo of continuous casting with heat distribution have been summarized in this paper.After a short review,a two-dimension numerical simulation model of CC billet has been proposed,which could analyze CC solidification process to a deeper extent.Take windows as the system platform,high-level visual programming language C#(C sharp)-bore both features of C and C++-as the software development tool, two-dimension heat transfer model and dynamic control system of secondary cooling area have been implemented.The dynamic control system of secondary cooling performed as off-line simulation-calculating temperature distribution of sample through read-in data of steel type,cross-section,pulling rate and target temperature-and on-line production control,computing and documenting the actual paragraphs of cooling water.This thesis synthesizes a comprehensive database,bunch of data and formulas, which paved the strong cornerstone to model.User could select simulation formulas and physical circumstance or append appropriate dataand formula expediently.The model has been checked in good agreements with actual data,while which have been proven being an effective tool to better understand continuous casting course,optimize parameters,a new steel design of the cooling water distribution and design continuous casting machine autonomy.
