At present, the main method used in China in the production of potassium carbonate is ion-exchange method. This method has such advantages as simple process, reliable technology, less investment, good quality and low cost. But some deficiencies still exist, address that the raw materials and resin utilization is low, the solution concentration after exchange is not high. In this paper, combine with the actual production, reference to the principle of continuous ion exchange process to improve the traditional ion-exchange process, the experiment has been performed to produce Potassium Carbonate by the techniques of absorption with series three ion exchange columns and elution with series two ion exchange columns.In this issue, absorption with series three ion exchange columns and elution with series two ion exchange columns have been researched and experimented,and have been compared with single-column ion-exchange process in the resin, raw material utilization and exchange of liquid solution concentration, etc. And against the factors such as solution concentration and flow of raw materials on the impact of process, namely on the string of columns and single-column ion-exchange experiments, to draw its influence and affect the extent of the law. The experimental results show that absorption with series three ion exchange columns and elution with series two ion exchange columns can greatly enhance the utilization of the raw materials and resin, but also to improve the solution concentration, for the subsequent evaporation, the recovery process to reduce energy consumption. In addition, the influence by adding liquid raw material flow rate and concentration on the process of ion-exchange column for the string of the ion exchange process is less, the string of column ion exchange process can be exchanged at a relatively high concentration and flow rate of fluid exchange, you can shorten the production cycle, improve production efficiency.
