Corrosion inhibitors are one of the most effective methods to protect mental from corrosion. With enhancement of environmental protection consciousness, people draw more attention to the effect of corrosion inhibitors on environment. So it's a tendency to develop environmentally friendly and biodegradable corrosion inhibitors. This paper summaried the present situation of development and tendency of corrosion inhibitors used in water treatment. It also gives a brief summary about the types of corrosion inhibitors.A new corrosion inhibitor of amine glucose phosphonic acid (EGP and DTGP) had been synthesized by using phosphorous acid, glucose and amine such as ethylenediamine and N-(2-hydroxyl-ethyl)-ethylenediamine, which structure had been confirmed by chemical analysis, fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR)and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum(1H,13C,31P-NMR). At the same time, it was found the optimization of reacting conditions and proper mole ratio of reactants. I studied the performance of the anticorrosion and anti-scale and biodegradation of amine glucose phosphonic acid using the static weight-losing method, effect on CaCO3 and BOD. The mechanism of corrosion inhibition acting on carbon steel was studied using linear polarization. The content of the research are as follows:1. Compared with organic phosphine inhibitors, it showes good biodegradable that amine glucose phosphonic acids which has be prepared by replacing methylenephosphonic acids. The biodegradability of amine glucose phosphonic acids are approximate compared with PASP and PESA. EGP and DTGP are environmentally friendly with low -phosphorus.2. The inhibiting rate of EGP and DTGP are almost same with Na2WO4 and Na2MoO4. The complex formation of WO42- and MoO42- respectively with phosphonic-type inhibitor show good corrosion-inhibiting performance. When the mixture ratio is 1:1, the inhibition efficiency increases from 56% to 90%. Using polarization curve testing, EGP and DTGP could resist cathodic and anodic, which are cathodic and anodic corrosion inhibitors.
