With the further development of computer graphics processing technology, finite element analysis is increasingly becoming an indispensable part of CAD software. Finite element theory, methods and the rapid development of related software provide the strong support to finite element analysis of polycrystalline material. The finite element simulation analysis of the polycrystalline material, then inference and forecast material macromechanics and physical properties were a common practice on abroad.DEFORM-3D is a finite element system based on the technology systems, specialized in analysis the three-dimensional(3D) flow of the forming process metal, provided extremely valuable of process analytical data, and the flow of the materials and temperature during the forming process. In this paper, the completed major work were as follows:The second development of pre-processing was realized successfully based on the large commercial finite element software of DEFROM-3D,the specific model of 3D polycrystals composed by the mass of grain was constructed. Biult on the technology of "representative volume elements"(RVE) of 3D polycrystals, the geometric data of 3D polycrystals were constructed using the microstructure material simulation software of ProDesign. Under the premise of the constructed 3D polycrystals, using the group self-developed computer software AutoRVE, established geometric model of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials's "representative volume element" in the finite element software of ABAQUS,drawed mesh and and generated the Input file about the 3D polycrystals that contains the geometric information and grid information. By using mixing programme of C programming with Python scripting language, the secondary development of commercial finite element software DEFR0M-3D preprocessing was implemented for geometric model building of the 3D polycrystals composed by the mass of grain.Coupled thermo-mechanical simulation of hot-upsetting and hot-rolling process were done after introduction of the 3D polycrystals successfully, then analyzed and discussed the mechanics of the 3D polycrystals, at the same time, demonstrated the distribution of temperature, equivalent stress and equivalent strain of the 3D polycrystals.then, we could better predict the macroscopic deformation behavior and assess the performance of material on quantitative. The results have great practical guiding significance to inference of the micro-failure material behavior.
