Calixarene, because of its potential supermolecular catalyse and simulated enzyme function, takes the attention of people. The size of the cavity of calixarene can be adjusted by changing the number of the phenol monocase,the conformation of the calixarene is instable but can be controlled,and the brim can be modified by adding function group. The study of Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of calixarene is one of the main aspects about its applications. Because the surface of the film has many holes leaded from the cavity of the calixarene, so it has the potential application in molecule and ion as the role of molecular sieve.Self-assembled monolayers(SAMs), as the cross-part of Chemistry,Physics,Life-science and Material-science, has good application future in photoelectricity material,humane tissue material,high-powered and high-efficient material of separation as well as nami-material, so SAMs was payed great attention to by many researchers of different nationalities. In all, the applications of SAMs can be divided into three aspects: the application in nami-material,film-material and biology.As a result of the potential purpose of calixarene, we joined the molecule that contains the sulfer-function group to the upper rim of the calixarene. This compound can form the self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) at the surface of Au because of the function group–S-. At the same time, calixarene has a great purpose in the field of the molecule identification. So we hope that the calixarene that contains the function group–S- has a new breakthrough in the aspects of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) and molecule identification.The main contain of this paper was as follows:1. In the first chapter, the basic knowledge of calixarene,the basic principle and character,evolvement and actuality of research of SAMs were introduced.2. In the second chapter of this paper, the main content was that under the condition of the alkali of sodium hydroxide and the solvent of diphenyl ether, 4-tert-butylphenol can turn into calix[4]arene directionally, and the conformations of the product that the three hydroxyl group of calixarene were protected were different under different alkali as well as how to get the product of steady conformation.3. In the third chapter of this paper, the main content was that two molecules of calixarene were joined together through one or two–S- function group. So the calixarene and the function group of–S- were joined together ideally.The structures of some new intermediates and all target products synthesized in this paper were characterized by the identification of 1H NMR,13C NMR,DEPT and MS.
