The photoelectric catalysis degradation of ammonia nitrogen in water and the photoelectric synthesis of ammonia are studied in this research. The TiO2 thin film electrode is made by sol-gelatin method and it is modified by doping different kinds of metal ions. The degradation experiments of simulated ammonia nitrogen wastewater under every kind of reaction condition are carried on, using the modified photochemical catalysis electrodes, to find out the optimum modification method, the optimum degradation reaction condition, and the optimum degradation efficiency. And the system of photoelectric catalysis nitrogen fixation to synthesize ammonia is also preliminarily studied and certain progress is made. It is indicated from the resultant's ion chromatogram analysis that under the photoelectric catalysis condition, ammonia nitrogen concentration in the solution obviously increases. The influence of the solution's pH, initial NH3-N concentration, illumination time, gas environment and polarizing voltage to the ammonia photoelectric chemical synthesis is studied. On the ZnO-TiO2, when the polarizing voltage is under the 0.1V condition, the ammonia nitrogen concentration increase may reach 16.7%.
