Layer double hydroxides (LDHs), known as ionic lamellar solids with positively charged layers and exchangeable hydrated gallery anions, have received considerable attention due to their applications in various fields, such as anion scavengers in wastewater, biomolecule reservoirs or as polymer additives to improve its properties. In this thesis, sandwich type polyoxometalate and pharmic molecular have been incorporated into LDHs. The catalytic activity and slow-release effect of these new materials have been investgated.Four new transition metals sandwich type tungstobismuthates anion-pillared layered double hydroxide materials [Mg2Al(OH)6]18[(Cu(H2O))3(α-BiW9O33)2]·68H2O,[Mg2Al (OH)6]10[(Co (H2O)3)2(WO2)2 (BiW9O33)2]·50H2O,[Mg2Al(OH)6]10[(Ni(H2O)3)2(WO2) 2 (BiW9O33)2]·55H2O, [Mg2Al(OH)6]10[(Mn(H2O)3)2(WO2)2(BiW9O33)2]·51H2O have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA), and their electrochemical behavior and magnetic properties were investigated and compared withthose of the precursor anion. The catalytic activity of these four new materials have been investigated towards the acetyl reactions of salicylic acid to acetylsalicylic acid. And [Mg2Al(OH)6]10[(Co(H2O)3)2(WO2)2(BiW9O33)2]·50H2O shows the excellent catalytic activity.Ceftezole Sodium, as a kind of anion-type drug, have been incorporated into LDHs and characterized by elemental analyses, PXRD, IR, TG and DTA. This kind of material shows a well slow-release effect in weak acidic contidions.
