In recent years,the functionalized polymeric nanospheres with narrow size distribution have attracted more and more attention because of their potential applications such as carriers for biomolecules like peptides or proteins and thus being applied for drug targeting,controlled drug release,immunoassays and immunodiagnostics.Facile method for preparation the functionalized polymeric nano spheres with specific architecture have been focused here.In this thesis,polymeric nanoparticles with surface carboxyl groups and functional polymeric nanocapsules with multi-lacuna have been prepared by soapless microemulsion polymerization.And the crosslinked polymeric nano hollow spheres with hydroxyl group on their surfaces were fabricated from a self-template method.1.Preparation monodispersed crosslinked polystyrene nanoparticles decorated with surface carboxyl groups via soapless microemulsion polymerizationNovel carboxyl groups decorated crosslinked polystyrene nanoparticles were prepared via the soapless emulsion polymerization of styrene and divinyl benzene with oleic acid as functional comonomer.The effects of the amounts of surfmer, crosslinker and initiator added,polymerizing time on the particle sizes of the nanoparticles were investigated by the dynamic laser light scattering(DLS) analysis. The monodispersed functional crosslinked polystyrene nanoparticles were obtained in the optimum polymerizing condition.2.Mono-dispersed functional polymeric nanoeapsules with multi-lacuna via soapless microemulsion polymerization with spindle-likeα-Fe2O3 nanoparticles as templatesThe mono-dispersed crosslinked polymeric multi-lacuna nanocapsules (CP(St-OA) nanocapsules) about 40 nm with carboxylic groups on their surfaces were fabricated and the spindle-likeα-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were encapsulated in the facile microemulsion polymerization with styrene(St) as monomer and divinylbenzene (DVB) as crosslinker.Then the templates were etched with HCl in tetrahydrofuran (THF).3.Preparation monodispersed crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol nano hollow spheres via self-template method.We report novel method for preparation a mono-dispersed crosslinked polymeric nano hollow spheres(CP(PVA-GA) nanocapsules) with hydroxyl group on their surfaces.Polyvinyl acetate(PVAc) nanoparticles prepared via microemulsion polymerization were used as templates.Then the shell layer of the PVAc nanoparticles was hydrolyzed partly into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA).The P(VAc-co-PVA) was crosslinked with glutaraldehyde(GA).The crosslinked polymeric nanocapsules were obtained after the dissolving the PVAc core with solvent.
