Compared to vacuum plasma, the atmospheric DBD plasma sources have recently received increased attention due to their many advantages, such as having no need for expensive vacuum equipent, being low-cost, and easy to operate. Therefore, the DBD plasma shows wildly potential applications in industry. In this dissertation, we shew some novel setups with highly conductive liquid-eletrode. Moreover, the discharging characteristics of the setups and their two potential applications were studied.Through a special design, a DBD plasma plume was generated under an atmopheric pressure conditon. We treated the dye solution and landfill leachate by using the downstream active gas of the plasma plume. And under the condition of the same oxygen flow speed and treatment time, the dissolution rate of the Acid fuchsin was improved accompanied the enhancement of discharge power. During the course of treating landfill leachate, the color of the liquid became clear from gloomy, and the conductivity ,COD and BOD, suspended matter was decreased by 50%,50%, 76% and 91% respectively, which meets the pretreating requirement of the reverse osmosis. So we find that the technology of non-equilibrium plasma is one of novel treatment technique which has great potential. In addition, we also make preliminary research by using this discharge system to degrade waste gas. The results shew that nearly 96% NO was removed and the growth of some coxcomb changed greatly after treated by the DBD plasma. Moreover, the flower size and the plant height of the treated coxcomb increaseed nearly two times, and the color of the leaves also turned from green-purple to purple.
