The fatigue life prediction of metal components under random loading has been an important subject of fatigue research.The theory has long been explored in depth.However, in engineering,the examples of applying of these research results to solve the practical problems are not very common.One of the main reasons is the lack of a more convenient and versatile tool for the prediction.Most of fatigue life problems for engineering structures belong to the scope of high-cycle fatigue life.In this paper,based on the nominal stress method,by studying the random high-cycle fatigue life prediction process,a more complete life prediction program has been designed after summarizing the basis of previous work.Some of the own opinions and improvement measures have been put forward after the researching on the main procedures as the pretreatment of load-time history signal,the rain-flow counting method,the method of stress spectrum synthesis on the parts of complex stress and the model of fatigue life prediction.On this basis,the software of fatigue life prediction application under random load has been designed by Windows operating system.Finally,based on the test dates fatigue life prediction of a 45-metre concrete pump truck is made by this software,which shows that the software in the paper has been used to predict the fatigue life for the engineering structure.
