The design and construction of new functional coordination polymers have been one of the frontier and final goals in current crystal enginerring due to their intriguing topological structures and potential applications in the fields of optical, catalytic, molecular recognition, gas storage and biology activity. Although many coordination polymers with unusual structures have been constructed depending on the self-assembly, the exploration for preparing functional coordination polymers still remains a challenge. Therefore, in further designing coordination polymers possessing interesting structural motifs and properties, the elaboration of organic ligands, the choice of metal ions and the controlling of reaction conditions are of significant importance. In the thesis, 14 coordination polymers based on two series of organic ligands were designed and constructed by hydrothermal methods, 1D chain-like coordination polymers [Cu2(4dpds)(ma)4](1), [Cd(4dpds)4(H2O)2]·H2O·CH3OH·2NO3 (2),[Cu2(4dps)(ma)4]·2H2O (5),[Ag(4dps)]·H2O·ClO4 (6),[Cd3(H2dstc)(dstc)(4bipy)3 (H2O)7]·6H2O (10),[Zn2(H2dstc)2(4dpe)3](12). 2-fold interpenetrating coordination polymers [Zn(4dpds)2(H2O)2]·2Hmal (3) and [Zn(4dpds)(fum)] (4). 2D sheet-shape coordination polymers [Sm2(Hdstc)(H2O)4]·2H2O (9) and [Cu(H2dstc)(4bipy)·H2O]·2H2O (11) and 3D coordination polymers [Co2(4dps)2(sdba)2]·2H2O (7), [Ni2(4dps)2(sdba)2]·2H2O (8), [Ni2(dstc)(4dpe)2(H2O)2]·2H2O (13), [Cd2(dstc) (2dpe) (H2O)3] (14). [4dpds= 4,4′-dipyridyldisulfide, Hma=methacrylic acid, H2mal=maleic acid, H2fum=fumaric acid, 4dps= 4,4′-dipyridylsuldide, H2sdba=4,4′-sulfonyldibenzoate, H4dstc=3,3',4,4'- diphenyl- sulfonetetracarboxylic acid, 4bipy=4,4'-bipyridine, 4dpe=1,2-di(4-pyridyl) ethylene, 2dpe=1,2-di(2-pyridyl) ethylene, ]. The totals of 14 coordination polymers were characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, X-ray single crystal diffraction, thermal gravimetric analyses, Cyclic voltametry and luminescence analyses. Then catalytic properties of complexes have been researched by using the decomposition reaction of H2O2, which is organic oxidant in industry, Finally, Nanoporous TiO2 sensitized by complexes have been used for cheaking photocatalytic activity for degradation of methyl orange and as stimulant dyes.
