This paper reviews the development in the field of porous coordination polymers. Then hexacyanochromate and terephthalic acid were selected respectively as building blocks to synthesize porous coordination polymers, and structures and properties of these two systems coordination polymers were studied.A series of bivalent transition metal ion M2+ (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd) and K3[Cr(CN)6] were selected as building blocks to synthesize four single crystals KM[Cr(CN)6]·H2O (M = Mn, Fe, Zn, Cd) by solution slow diffusion and seven powder samples KM[Cr(CN)6]·xH2O (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd) by quick mixture method. These Prussian Blue analogous coordination polymers are three-dimension cubic structure. The results of variable temperature powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis indicate that the three-dimension frameworks of Prussian Blue analogous coordination polymers KM[Cr(CN)6]·H2O((M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd)) remain stable between 120℃~200℃. N2 adsorption and desorption studies suggest that the surface areas and the limiting adsorption of KM[Cr(CN)6](M = Mn, Zn, Cd) Prussian Blue analogous coordination polymers are both high, which are relevanted to a number of microporous in their structures. So these three Prussian Blue analogous coordination polymers can be used in gas storage field as porous materials.Bivalent transition metal ion, Co2+, was selected as template, terephthalic acid (H2bdc) acted as O-donor rigid ligand while azpy, N, N′-bis(4-pyridylmethylidine)- 1,4-phenylenediamine, pyrazine acting as N-donor ligands which were used as building block to synthesize three new metal-organic coordination polymers by solvethermal method. And their structures and properties have been charactered by single crystal X-ray diffaration, IR spectrum, and thermogravimetric analysis.In these three new coordination polymers, two-dimensional coordination polymer [Co(azpy)(bdc)]·2DMF·0.5H2O belongs to orthorhombic system, space group Fdd2. Three-dimensional coordination polymers [Co3(bdc)3(H2O)]·CH3OH·0.5H2O and [Co3(Hbdc)2(bdc)2]·4DMF·2H2O belong to triclinic systerm and monoclinic systerm, respectively, and their space group are P-1 and C2/c.
