Carbon dioxide is one of the main greenhouse gases, it has greatly affected human production and living. The international societies have paid great attention to the mitigation of the greenhouse gas CO2, and it has also become a research focus. Nowadays, the flue gas from coal-burners is the predominant emission fountain and it's easier for separation and recovery of the flue gas than others. Anyway this action is very meaningful.Pressure Swing Adsorption(PSA)is an effective method for separating CO2 from gas mixtures because of its simple operation, low energy wastage, high dependability and good environment benefit and it has been widely used in industry. Because PSA is a complex heat and mass transfer process in porous media, the flow, heat and mass transfer in adsorption and separation process are analyzed after PSA basic principle and technics are introduced, then the mechanism of heat and mass transfer is explained through PSA dynamics and thermodynamics. The sorbent is very important in PSA, and the ones in common use are reviewed, so are their characteristics, especially thermal characteristic. Thus the heat conduction of sorbent is studied by sphere way, the heat conduction coefficient of zeolite 13X,active carbon based on coal and fruit hull has been respectively tested. The conclusion is that the equivalent heat conduction coefficient of active carbon based on fruit is higher than other two sorbents'.The equipment design points and approach of experiment are described. As for the adsorbents used in the experiment such as zeolite 13X,active carbon based on coal and fruit hull, their breakthrough curves, central and radial temperature distribution in adsorption and separation process are tested, then mass transfer performance and adsorptive heat influence of the different adsorbents are analysed in a qualitative way. What's more, the performance of mass transfer, separation and adsorption has also been studied under different pressure and technics condition. For the mass transfer resistance and separation effect of two different active carbons based on fruit hull, they are also tested. As can be concluded , the active carbon based on fruit hull is the best sorbent in experiment.
