Stirred kettle is the key equipment in the production of hydroxy nickel powder. In the production process, a load of nickel metal particles has great quality, required a certain degree of stirring, As there is no design data accumulated of the large-size kettle in our country, so it is very significant to do the simulation analysis for horizontal kettle of hydroxy nickel powder according to the reactor structure and the application.The paper have done these research in the simulation:1. The paper regards the hydroxy nickel powder in the kettle as viscous fluid, and use DEM to get the macro parameter of the hydroxy nickel powder base on the method of unilateral compression and falling spheres;2. The commercial FEA software DYTRAN is employed to simulation the process of the kettle work by coupling of the fluid and solid, then the design of the propeller is defined;3. Simulation the kettle work under four different condition, according to the stress distribution of propeller in the result,determining the paddle speed and packing coefficient on the impact of the strength.4.
