The application experimental investigation discovered that the burning-rate catalyst grafted HTPB has high efficient burning-rate catalytic performance, excellent mechanical and process properties. Moreover, migration and volatile of other similar burning-rate catalyst were overcome. It will be applied in various types of missiles in future. For ensuring the product quality of the burning-rate catalyst, ferrocenylbutylthiol was synthesized and the gas chromatography analysis was done. The iron content, hydroxyl value, water mass fraction, number average molecular weight (VPO), volatile mass fraction, and viscosity of grafted HTPB (ferrocenylbutylthiol:hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene = 4:10) were determined. These analysis methods of the grafted HTPB were comparatively researched and the analytical method standards were established.
