Freeze concentration as a low-temperature atmospheric concentration methods, especially suitable for concentrates of heat-sensitive liquid food,bio-pharmaceutical,drinks required to retain the natural color and flavor,Chinese medicine decoction of materials,the cases accessed to solid ice or desalination water and so on, which has also been a successful application in some typical products Applications of freeze concentration technology in seawater desalination and ice concentration are the main research objects of this paper.Two structures of freeze concentration equipment are put forward, and then a systematic analysis and computation for the internal structure of the cylinder, materials selection, thermodynamic performance and economy are given, also the key design parameters are put forward. At last, a comprehensive analysis of the cool supply system and regulating method is conducted.The relation of refrigerant evaporation temperature, seawater temperature, ice thickness, icing rate at the interface of ice and seawater are discussed when the freeze concentration equipment is applied to desalination seawater. Systematic discussion for the cool supply and regulating method of the equipment is carried on and the regulation and control schemes are presented in the paper.Based on the above theoretical study, a simulation experimental device is established, which is applied to analyze the influencing factors of operation parameters to icing rate with four type brine of salt content for 0,1%,2%,3.5%. The regulation of the icing rate in the typical parts of the device varying with time,evaporating temperature,concentration of the brine and some other parameters is obtained. Finally the experimental correlation of the icing rate and the main influencing factors is built up, which provides a better reference for the rotary cylinder freeze concentration equipment applying to practical engineering.
