Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) coatings were widely applied because of its excellent properties such as antifriction,self-lubricity, heat-durability,aging resistance.But its wear resistance is not high,so its range of application was limited.In this thesis,modified PTFE-based composite coating has been prepared by filling with inorganic ceramic particles,such as SiC with the particle size of 1.10~2.00μm(called GCW1.5 in brief),SiC with the particle size of 2.75~3.55μm(called GCW3.5 in brief),Al2O3 with the particle size of 3.00μm(called WA3000 in brief).The modified PTFE-based coatings were then sprayed on the tinplate-chips.The wear resistance of the coatings was tested with a self-made wear testing machine,and the corrosion properties of the coatings was studied.The mechanical properties of the coatings,such as flexibility,impact resistance,hardness and adhesion,were tested.The friction factor of the coatings was tested with an universal testing machine.Comparing the properties of various modified composite coatings,it can be found the wear resistance of the coatings can be obviously improved with the addition of ceramic particles with suitable category and size,the good corrosion resistance can also be sustained simultaneously.The coatings with the addition of WA3000 particle has the largest wear resistance promotion,that with GCW3.5 the second and that with GCW1.5 the smallest.Contrarily,the wear properties was decreased when addition amount was reached to 20-wt%.Comparing the wear properties of various modified composite coatings,it can be found that the suitable addition amount of various ceramic particles was between in 10-wt%~20-wt%.The friction factor of the various composite coatings increased with the addition of particles content. Considering these properties synthetically,it can be considered that the coating containing 10-wt%SiC with the size of 2.75~3.55μm is the best.
