Many synthetic methods have been developed. This chapter reviewed its synthetic methods in details.Chapter two: Synthesis of Methyl Dihydroepijasmonate with Organozinc HalidesBased on literature and the research work in our group on organozinc halides, an effective synthetic route for synthesis of methyl dihydroepijasmonate was developed. Methyl dihydroepijasmonate was synthesized from cyclopentanone and valeraldehyde via 5 steps: condensation reaction, isomerization reaction, 1, 4-Michael reaction, oxidation of C=C bond by RuCl3.xH2O and NaIO4, and esterification reaction. The key step is 1, 4-Michael reaction of organozinc reagent with 2-pentyl-2–cyclopentanone. At the same time, the reaction condition was optimized.
