Wood Alu-clad window, energy-saving and decorative, covers increasing market in China, whereas its high price involves confinements, the majority can not afford for that used only for high-grade residential, villas, and offices, etc. For the sake of price cutting, the paper starts from the material of window frame, select the low-price particleboard (PB) and medium-density fiberboard (MDF) for the core, and Canadian S·P·F for the surface, thus the wood laminated composites. For this purpose, the paper studies on the dimensional stability and the screw-holding power of wood-based composites for window frame, and analyses the material costs of the composites. The conclusions are as follows:(1)The thickness of wood material layer closely connects with the dimensional stability of wood-based composites, the dimensional stability of 10mm-layer composites are better than that of 5mm one, for instance, to say, the thicker the layer is, the better the dimensional stability is.(2)In terms of dimensional stability, the target wood-based composites can take the place of glue-laminated timber in the production of wood alu-clad windows in high temperature and high humidity circumstance (temperature32℃, relative humidity95﹪), as well as not serious water immersion, but not the serious one.(3)The seal ability and flexibility of Nippon two compoments PU wood-pro coatings are both superb, and it can be used in the production of wood alu-clad windows.(4)The screw-holding power test of composites shows that the power of both edges and surfaces of these composites are stronger than that of Pinus sylvestris var. monglica glulam, thus the target wood-based composites meet practical demands.(5)Samples on series 68, 6mm layer wood-based composites, sums up the window frame cost, and analyses its economical feasibility, window frame of wood-based composites are much cheaper than that of Pinus sylvestris var. monglica glued laminated timber, so promising market and rich profit ahead.
