Chirality is one of the basic characters of the nature.Enantiomers could not be separated using the traditional method because of its same physical and chemical properties in the non-chiral environment. So enantiomeric separation and determination in the analytic chemistry was considered as one of the most difficult work. Methods for the determination of enantiomeric purity in the literature mainly focused on the chromatography,in which the gas chromatography and liquid chromatography with chiral column were mostly used. But chromatography have some limitations, such as the expensive chiral column, narrow application range, limited type of chiral column and long analytic time.Recently, the chiral shift reagent(CSR) method for determining the enantiomeric purity have attracted many attention because of its convenience. The CSR method does not need any chemical pretreatment. The enantiomeric purity could be obtained through determining the non-enantiomer isomer formed from the substrate and the CSR using the NMR spectrum directly.Cyclopenta(cyclohexa)pyridin-ol was an important chiral intermediate and widely used in organic synthesis. In the dissertation, different sample concentration, different ratio between CSR and substrute and different functional group substrate were studied. The results showed the average recovery was 99.70%and RSD was 0.57%.The method for determing enantiomeric purity could excess 99%e.e.
