In this paper, a large number of experiments have been carried for the successful preparation of zirconium salt solution system to inspect the influence to ceramics level thickness and surface roughness of micro-arc oxidation technological parameter for zirconium salt solution system;By comparing the density of ceramics between the zirconium salt solution system and the silicic acid salt solution system, the paper indicate that the zirconium salt solution system ceramics have the better compactness, and determine the ceramics level degree of hardness to achieve above 1000HV in the zirconium salt solution system.In this paper, neutral sodium chloride immersion test and salt spray corrosion test are used to study the corrosion resistance of ceramic coating for magnesium alloy micro-arc oxidation, and the results show that the corrosion resistance of ceramic layer in the zirconium salt solution system is nearly 3 times to that in a silicate salt solution system, achieved no pitting 496h; At the same time, the best combination of process parameters are selected by the micro-arc oxidation process of magnesium alloy in zirconium salt solution as follows: current density, 2.0A/dm2; frequency, 600Hz; duty cycle , 15%.Finally, with energy spectra and XRD diffraction analysis of ceramic layer of zirconium salt solution and its component elements contained in that layer, the results show that a larger mass fraction of elements and a large proportion of zirconium zirconia phase were in existence; Contrasting with the surface of 496h salt-fog corrosion samples, we can see that the ceramic layer of zirconium salt solution erode more light with that relatively thicker, and by observing the cross-section morphology of ceramic layer, we can find that: layer ceramic of zirconium salt solution has better homogeneity and density.
