Semi-solid forming is the method which make use of metal changes from liquid to solid or from solid to liquid transformation (that is the coexistence of liquid and solid) process with the characteristics of the metal. This new processing method combine the strengths with solidification processing and plastic processing, that is processing temperature is lower than liquid,deformation resistance is smaller than solid, and can processing a large defomation components which shape is complexity and requires the better precision and function quility.Make use of self-developed technology which is to make semi-solid aluminum alloy slurry by strong cooling single-tube, in the condition which can ensure obtain better semi-solid organization to study the influence of pouring temperature and cooling water flow rate toward the semi-solid aluminum alloy slurry organizations.The experimental results showed that: the pouring temperature and cooling water flow rate has a very pronounced effect for the grain appearance and grain dimension of semi-solid slurry. When pouring temperature is too high, the temperature of export aluminum is too high, and can not form a better semi-solid organization; When pouring temperature is too low, the steel pipe may be blocked, lead to the experiment fail. The greater flow rate of cooling water, the greater cooling intensity it will be, and need the higher pouring temperature.The distribution of temperature is influenced by the interaction of the pouring temperature and the flow rate of cooling water when aluminum alloy melt flow through steel pipe, then affecting the numeber of effective nucleation, and finally affecting the structure and dimension of primary particles. Only a variety of conditions have achieved a good match can dramatically improve the number of effective nucleation, and then acquire better semi-solid slurry.Make use of commercial simulation software ProCAST to simulate the technology. By setting different boundary conditions to simulate the flow characteristics and the situation of temperature field distribution when A356 aluminum alloy slurry in the process of preparation. Through compare simulation results with experimental results, analyse the results which is obtained in the conditions with different technology parameters, thereby provide guidance function for the experiment.
