With the apprearance of precision,ultra-precision machining and new material,diamond tool is developed widely. Diamond tools have a lot of advantages, for example high hardness and wear resistance, sharply cutting edge, small edge roughness value , small friction coefficient, good anti-bonding, high coefficient of thermal conductivity and so on. When machined by diamond tool, the surface quality of work piece is very good. And there is difficult to bond to tool and produce build-up edge. So the diamond tool is first choice tool for machining the new style difficult-to-machine materials with the precision and ultra-precision machining. Nowadays, diamond tools are most performed. in turning. The thesis does a research on design the high speed end milling cutter and dynamic characteristics, which based on the high speed milling technology and diamond tool performance,it is great significance in application in milling of diamond tools . The main studies include:Diamond tools are designed based on the principle of high-speed milling and the performance of diamond tools , and the factors which impact the tool geometry angles are considered. When the diameter of the end milling cutter is less than 10 mm, the integer welding type is suitable. But when the diameter of the end milling cutter is more than 10 mm, the variable position type is more applicable. The structure and reasonable size of tools are studied deeply using Pro/E.A parametric design system for high speed diamond end milling tools has been developed with the use of Pro/Toolkit and VC. The system has advantages of well manipulated, quickly capability of parametric design of high speed diamond end milling cutter. And the system has the capability of driving size to the tools which have the same structure. The sizes of the bar are the geometric or the arithmetic progression which is changing with the diameters of tools. The geometry of the tools are impacted by the angles of the blades. The rationality of the tool angles can be tested by the engineering graphics which are drawn by the system directly.For cutting characteristics of high speed diamond end milling tools, the finite element model of diamond tools, which are designed in this paper, are established and the dynamic characteristics of the tools are researched. The position of the most stress and strain are impacted by the structures and sizes of the tools. When the rotational speed of the tools is increasing, the displacement, most equivalent stress and strain grow. When the length of clamp is different, the trend of displacement,, equivalent stress and strain is similar at the same rotational speed for single blade end milling. The effect of equivalent stress and strain which the length of clamp is act on the two blades end milling is not notable. And the designed tool are analysed in the different time courses based on the transient dynamic analysis theory .The radial dispersion of the centre point is growing with the increasing of the time. The data can be got by graph and list. That is according with the theory.
