Coal slurry is industrial wastewater which in the process of wet-processing in the coal preparation plant. At present, the organic polymer flocculant and inorganic coagulant are mainly to be used to accelerate the flocculation and settlement speed of coal slurry. And the microbial flocculant(MBF) as a new generation of safe, no-poisonous, harmLess flocculant has been applied in the coal slurry treatment, and has great significance.In the paper, Rhodopseudomonas spheroides(R.S.), Phanerochaete chrysosporium(P.C.) and new bacterium by means of domestication, UV induced mutation and chemical induced mutation also have been used to orthogonal experiment. The effects of various kinds of facts on coal slurry flocculation have been stuied to find optimum combination. At the same time, the growth curves of the strains were also tested and analysed. The results show that: the differences of Rhodopseudomonas spheroides and Phanerochaete chrysosporium have effect in coal slurry. The best flocculation rate of original R.S. and P.C. are respectively 93.4% and 93.5%, the best flocculation rate of domesticated R.S. and P.C. are respectively 93.19% and 88.68%, the best flocculation rate of UV induced R.S. and P.C. are respectively 96.19% and 95.04%, the best flocculation rate of chemical induced R.S. and P.C. are respectively 95.66% and 95.08%. The best exposure time of R.S. and P.C. under UV irradiation is respectively 1min and 40s, the best density of R.S. and P.C. with nitrite are 0.033mol/L. UV induced mutation and chemical induced mutation can increase flocculation rate of coal slurry , and domestication mutation improve the stability of coal slurry flocculation.At the same time, these two types of microbiology of biological macromolecules crude powder were extracted and analysed by UV, FTIR, SEM. Coal slurry was analysed by XRD. The flocculant mechanism of the MBF(B) was discussed. The results show that MBF molecule and coal slurry particle could flocculate by "absorption bridge", finally deposited.
