The fast forging press is a kind of heavy mechanical equipments in the machinery industry. Because of fast forging speed, high control accuracy, high automation, wide processing range, greatly saving material and energy, the fast forging press becomes a developing trend of the free forging equipments and has been widely used in industry production. The fast forging property directly affects the forging piece quality, production efficiency and automation. Researching on the fast forging circuit control system characters of the fast forging press has important theory meaning and practical application value.Based on the 22MN fast forging press, the fild data between overflow fast forging circuit and proportional fast forging circuit are compared and their system characters are analysed. The advantages and disadvantages of systems characters and the improvement scheme are put forward.This dissertation builds mathematical models of these two circuits and key components by the mechanism modeling method, and relies on parameterized simulation by Matlab/Simulink. It is studied on the systems characters of overflow fast forging and the proportional fast forging in the same condition such as the same system pressure, reduction and forging frequency. According to the overflow fast forging circuit, it is studied on the effects of overflow valve setting pressure to system. According to the characters of the proportional fast forging circuit, double-mode controller is designed and the control result is compared with the result controlled by the simple PID controller. The simulated fast forging press experiment platform is established to make experimental study.The results show that: overflow valve setting pressure has dicisive influence to the overflow fast forging circuit. The characters of proportional fast forging circuit is better than overflow fast forging circuit generally, but it is weak in system robustness. When using double-mode control, compared with system controlled by simple PID, the double-mode controller improves the anti-interference ability of system, and the fast forging system character is better on the robustness and the anti-shock ability. The double-mode controller is a kind of great controller.
