The article reported that tributyl citrate(TBC) was synthesized using citric acid and n-butanol as reaetants in the presence of solid acid as catalyst.Reaction process using high performance liquid chromatography, the appropriate conditions of high-performance liquid chroma- tography detecting the reaction were detected, that is UV detection wavelength 230nm, binary mobile phase of acetonitrile: water (80:20), velocity 1.0ml/min.In the paper, Cation exchange resin and Self-made activated carbon is responsible for phosphotungstic acid catalyst were characterized by IR and TPD and their esterification activity was determined. The results show that underwater Resin is a strong acid. Tributyl citrate was synthesized under the condition of continuous stirringin a batch reactor with that catalyst. The results showed that catalyzed resin has a high catalytic activity, no corrosion, post-treatment process is simple. The main factors,including quantity of the catalyst,reaction temperature,molar ratio of reactants,reaction time and mixing speed,were investigated.The optimum reaction condition was determined as follows:citric-acid to n-butanol molar ratio = 1:3.5, reaction temperature within 140℃, reaction time 4 h. with conversion can reach to 96.32%. The experimental result showed that the catalyzed resin had high activity and stability.In addition, on the condition of atmospheric pressurea and at the temperature between 388.15K~398.15K , in batch reactor, the reaction rate equation was simulated.The results showed that the catalytic synthesis of tributyl citrate is a series of irreversible reactions, as follow. according to the kinetic data of experiment, 1-butyl citrate generates deputy citrate, deputy citrate generate tributyl citrate,the reaction rate equation simulated was:...
