Magnesium, Aluminium-Hydrotalcite (Mg,Al-Hydrotalcite) is new inorganic flame-retardant, with a very wide application prospects. Mg-Al hydrotalcite whiskers can achieve the purpose of flame retardancy without deteriorating material properties, it is a very promising with high performance price ratio.Mg,Al-Hydrotalcite whisker samples were prepared by ultra-sonic one-step method. The samples were analyzed by SEM,XRD and Energy spectrum. The effects of different magnesium sources, different aluminum sources, different ultrasonic times, different aging temperatures and different aging time on the preparation of Mg-Al hydrotalcite Whiskers. The mole rate of [Mg2+] to [Al3+] of the hydrotalcite whisker sample is greater than that of the non-crystalline of the hydrotalcite. This article explores the calculation of materials, lattice vibration and thermal properties of Mg(OH)2 and MgO are calculated to provides a theoretical basis for optimizing preparation technology.
