Sheet laser bending is a use of high-energy laser beam to scan the surface of metal sheet forming, non-uniform temperature which caused by thermal stress place achieves the plastic deformation processes. Compared with conventional forming process, it has many advantages. During the laser forming process, no hard dies and external forces are required, big flexible production, low processing costs and forming high precision and so on. At the same time, as a new method of plastic forming, the numerous pay attention to it.In this paper, based on the analyzing of the thermal and mechanical properties of the materials, a 3-D thermal-mechanical coupled model of laser sheet bending has been set up. The laser scan numerical simulation is carried out by ABAQUS finite element analysis software for the ST14 steel. The contents are as follows:(1) Laser bending of sheet metal forming the finite element simulation, the Gaussian distribution of the dynamic heat and control the heat source with the subroutine scan path, which are shaping the course of the temperature field, displacement field and stress-strain field results.(2) In the simulation, using shell element and the method of combining element of birth and death, thereby reducing the computation to reduce computation time, end-use shell elements and elements of birth and death of the multi-pass plate bending simulation.(3) By numerical simulation, research the cooling method, cooling opportunity, scanning path, scanning step distance, scanning times on the final result of bending.(4) Application BuckinghamΠtheorem and the numerical simulation results sheet bending shape and return to the technical parameters, material properties and the relationship between the scanning frequency equation, and through a large sheet of laser bending simulation results to verify the accuracy of the equation.
