SGC and SPME-GC/MS were used to analyse odor compounds in raw water of Taihu Lake. The mainly odor compounds were DMS,DMDS,DMTS,MIB,P-cyclocitral,GEO,β-Ionone,α-cedrol,m-xylene and so on.And HS-GC was used to analyse the content of CH4 in water. In X waterworks, the concentration of dimethyl sulfide compounds was high in the late July and November; In Y water area, the concentration of dimethyl sulfide compounds was high in November and December. The concentration of m-xylene was high in raw water of Taihu Lake in November and December. The concentration of MIB,β-cyclocitral,GEO,β-Ionone,α-cedrol in raw water of Taihu Lake was high in April,May,July,August. In these months, algae blooms produced plenty of secondary metabolites. With the decline of water temperature,Algae corrupted in November and the concentration of algal secondary metabolites declined.Early in June,Emergency monitoring was carried on to analyse odor compounds in lake flooding. The concentration of dimethyl sulfide compounds was high and decreased with the passage of lake flooding.β-cyclocitral abounded in corrupt algal cells and released into water in lake flooding.Exceptβ-cyclocitral the concentration of m-xylene and algal secondary metabolites did not change significantly.CH4 released into water during algae decaying in lake flooding and the content of CH4 in lake flooding was higher than in raw water of Taihu Lake.Compared of variation of the content of CH4 and the concentration of DMTS,it showed the same change of the two.
