With the development of the global economy, more and more energy will be needed. The energy occupies a very important position in socio-economy. At present, the energy of coal, petroleum, natural gas and other fossil fuels are non-renewable resources, at the same time it will bring about some environmental issues. Solar energy, which is a sort of reproducible clean energy, has a lot of advantages over other energy source, and conversion of sunlight to electrical power is an irreversible trend in the filed of energy utilization. There are many sort of solar cells, however, Preparation of economic and reliable solar cell devices has become a hotspot in recent years. In this paper, the main contents and results are as follows:(1) Highly uniform polystyrene (PS) spheres were synthesized using an emulsifier-free polymerization technique. The PS colloids were coated on indium tin oxid (ITO) substrate to obtain PS colloidal crystal templates via vertical deposition technique. 3-D ordered ZnO inverse opal was fabricatedusing PS colloidal crystal templates via electrodeposition(2) Cu2O/ZnO composite opal was fabricated by ZnO inverse opal through the second electrodeposition. The preparation of conditions and photo luminescence (PL) were studied. The position of the photonic stop band can be modulated by changing the size of the PS colloidal crystal templates. ZnO/Cu2O was assembled into composite opal solar cells, and a series of performance were be tested by using ourself designed solar cell device test system. It has appeared a certain degree of solar photovoltaic effect, and it has achieved the results of a preliminary study.(3) 3-D ordered TiO2 inverse opal was fabricated by using ZnO inverse opal via liquid phase deposition. And CdS quantum dots (QDS) were prepared by using chemical bath deposition. TiO2 Also test its XRD, UV-Via and PL to reveal the size effect to QDs and the transfer efficiency. It has also appeared a good solar photovoltaic effect.
